An employee was shot Tuesday afternoon, October 16, at the Quick Lube Service Center on Marguerite Mine Road in Auburn, California.
The incident began when 41-year-old Joseph De La Cruz Jr. walked into the shop and asked to speak to a female employee, who was his soon-to-be ex-wife, according to FOX40. The two spoke outside, but after the woman returned to work, De La Cruz retrieved a gun from his pickup truck and went inside.
De La Cruz argued with the woman and others inside the business before firing his handgun several times, striking an employee in the upper body.
According to police department reports, the victim has been hospitalized.
De La Cruz fled the scene, triggering a manhunt that continued until Wednesday morning.
