Pennsylvania Auto Shop Holds Holiday Toy Drive for Children in Need
Pennsylvania-based Hoods Up Quick Lube will be holding its second-annual toy drive for local children in need, the Mon Valley Independent reports.
The auto business has partnered with Koteles Racing and the Christmas for Kids Organization to put on the second Stuff a Race Car Trailer gift fundraiser, following its success last year.
A race car trailer collecting toy donations will be set up at Hoods Up’s Belle Vernon location, with its two other locations in Canonsburg and Carroll Township accepting drop-off donations too. Last year, the entire trailer was filled up with toy donations, providing toys and clothes to over 100 kids in need. Event organizers hope to double last year’s number this time around.
Shannon Johnson, who works with the Christmas for Kids organization, plans to lend a helping hand throughout the toy drive’s run, along with her family members and the Stockdale, Allenport, and Roscoe communities.
“There’s so much going on now, so it’s crazy to see how many people want to come out and support every year,” Johnson said. “It’s appreciated by all of us, because it’s not just me, it’s like a whole army that does this.”
