Mike Guasch of SpeeDee Oil Change & Auto Service has been awarded the Franchisee of the Year Award from the International Franchise Association (IFA), according to a press release.
The award is intended to recognize individuals who have empowered the franchise business model. Parent companies nominate people who have displayed community involvement and entrepreneurial skills, cultivated healthy workplace cultures, and supported fellow franchisees.
Mike and his wife, Ana, have been involved with the automotive industry for over three decades. Since first joining SpeeDee's Corporate Offices in 1992, Mike held a variety of roles including district manager for California, regional manager for the west, and vice president of operations, and is credited as being integral to the 2017 launch of SpeeDee’s Total Trust Guarantee.
In 2019, Mike and his wife purchased their own SpeeDee location in Modesto, California, and are now recognized as providing a positive work environment, having invested time and resources into training and technology to bolster employee loyalty and customer service. As a participant in NorCal’s Ad Committee, Mike makes an effort to support other franchisees as well.
Mike was announced as this year's award recipient during the 64th IFA Annual Convention in Phoenix, Arizona.

This award motivates us to continue our commitment to excellence and service in the automotive industry, driving us to reach even greater heights in the years to come.”
