The recall follows a recent investigation launched by NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation unit after receiving 31 complaints from Ford Bronco owners.

Ford is recalling 42,652 of its Bronco Sport and Escape vehicles in the U.S. due to the risk of a fuel leak and fire, according to CBT News.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced this past Wednesday that Ford would be recalling the vehicles due to damaged fuel injectors prone to leaking and causing a fire.

The recall follows a recent investigation launched by NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) unit after receiving 31 complaints from Ford Bronco owners that detail vehicles losing automotive power and experiencing electrical system failure.

According to NHTSA, Ford is actively working to remedy the damaged fuel injectors involved in the current recall. Dealers will install a drain tube and upgrade the engine control software to detect fuel injector leaks.
