Summit Automotive Group of Silverthorne, Colorado, has been named the best oil change of its county in Summit Daily’s 2023’s Best of Summit list.
Owned and operated by Jim Tinsley for the past 21 years, Summit Automotive Group’s lube shop is maintained and serviced by Grease Monkey of Silverthorne. An average day at the shop sees around 45 people come through for oil changes, with the record being around double that.
Tinsley believes it isn’t simply the act of changing oil that earned his shop the title, though–it’s involvement with the local community. Summit Automotive regularly makes donations to churches, the homeless, and pet rescues. Just recently, the shop sponsored the 2023 Playhouse Project, a fundraiser for Summit Lost Pet Rescue.
This community involvement stems from a genuine care Tinsley has for his customers and the local community. He does all he can to work with people’s busy schedules and pressing automotive needs to keep as many people safe as he can.
“We truly care about the customer,” told Tinsley. “It’s not what I make at the end of the day, it’s how many people can I help in one day.”
