National Oil and Lube News Celebrates USPS Authorization

Dec. 7, 2020

NOLN reaches periodicals classification for first time in the automotive publication’s 34 years.

St. Paul, Minn., December 7, 2020—National Oil and Lube News (NOLN), an automotive publication exclusively serving more than 25,000 oil change and quick maintenance businesses, announced it has been authorized for periodicals status from the United States Postal Service (USPS). Almost 18 months after NOLN was acquired by 10 Missions Media, for the first time in more than 34 years of serving the automotive industry the publication has been authorized for the classification and is a true testament to the publication’s continued, leading industry standing.

“For the benefit of our valued advertising partners, we have applied significant resources into audience development and circulation efforts for NOLN over the last 18 months,” says Chris Messer, Vice President & Publisher at 10 Missions Media. “Achieving periodicals classification is the verification and confirmation of these efforts that provides partners with the assurance that NOLN is both respected and requested by our readers.”

Joe Motylinski, General Manager at Speed Lube 10-Minute Oil Change No. 2 in Decatur, Ill., said, “NOLN is an excellent publication. Over the 12 years of my quick lube career, I have referenced it many times. Common vehicle issues to specs, team building to streamlining your client wait time, NOLN is a great asset to the automotive industry.”

As a monthly publication influencing operators like Motylinski, the upgraded move to periodicals status further allows NOLN’s intended audience to receive the relevant insight they need quicker with a faster delivery time. It also offers better service as periodicals classification is seen as a “higher” class of mail standards.

The audit for periodicals mailing privileges, which was completed in December of 2020, was performed by BPA Worldwide, a respected audit bureau in the publishing world, and was done on behalf of the USPS by “vetting” the circulation data file of publications. One hundred percent of NOLN’s subscribers are owners and operators of quick maintenance facilities.
