The Tulsa Crime Stoppers group in Tulsa, Oklahoma, has announced Jiffy Lube as the newest addition to its list of businesses that will help track catalytic converters to reduce theft.

The Tulsa Crime Stoppers group in Tulsa, Oklahoma has announced Jiffy Lube as the newest addition to its list of businesses that will help track catalytic converters to reduce theft, KJRH reports.

The effort is part of a program started by the group to help curb catalytic converter thefts, called “Etch to Protect.” Jiffy Lube will be joining a list of several other businesses in the area that have agreed to help the Crime Stoppers group with etching a vehicle’s information onto its catalytic converter.

The program was originally launched with the help of local car dealerships but has grown since then as other businesses have agreed to help. Since the program’s inception, more than 2,500 catalytic converters have been marked.

Following the announcement made in a news conference this past Wednesday, every Jiffy Lube location in Tulsa County will offer catalytic converter etching services free of charge.
