Illinois Jiffy Lube Hosting Catalytic Converter Marking Event

A Jiffy Lube store in Evanston, Illinois, is partnering with local law enforcement to host a catalytic converter marking event, according to Patch.

The Oct. 11 event, taking place at the Jiffy Lube on 1941 Dempster Street, will allow locals to have their catalytic converters marked for free to help deter theft.

The event is being offered only to Honda, Toyota, and Hyundai vehicles, due to their elevated risk of being targeted for theft. 

Officers will be on-site alongside Jiffy Lube staff to assist with spray painting catalytic converters. Participants will also need to pre-register and provide proof of residency within Evanston at check-in.
