Lucas Oil Center Fundraises for Children’s Hospital
Lucas Oil Center in Evansville, Indiana hosted its second-annual Riley Giveback Weekend to raise money for the Riley Children’s Foundation, according to a press release.
The event was originally launched in July of 2013 as a one-day event, but last year was expanded to an entire weekend, taking place July 21 through July 23 this year.
Staff at both Lucas Oil Center locations wore red Riley Giveback Weekend shirts throughout the weekend. There were refreshments provided by food trucks from Joey Za’s Pizza & Steaks, Sweet Dreams À La Mode, and a local no-kill shelter It Takes a Village No-Kill Rescue, with their proceeds going toward maintaining the shelter.
With the help of partners Lucas Oil Products, this year introduced a new prize: four tickets to any 2023-2024 home Colts game, awarded to a randomly chosen customer who received an oil change or car wash over the weekend.
The biggest event of the weekend, however, was the Riley Giveback Car Show. 102 cars registered for the show, which on its own raised over $2,000 that was donated to Riley.
With $3,900 being raised last year, this year beat it by a mile with a grand total donation of $6,000. This was then matched by Lucas Oil Products to raise a total of $12,000 for Riley Children’s Foundation.
