Nov. 13, 2020—Lucas Oil Center recently held a fundraiser dedicated to raising funds for a local mom battling breast cancer.
According to a press release, Lucas Oil Center dedicates a Saturday in October every year to hold a fundraiser for a local individual battling breast cancer, with 20 percent of every oil change and car wash donated back to the recipient.
This year's recipient, Sarah Appel of Boonville, Ind., was diagnosed with stage 3 invasive ductal carcinoma in 2012 at the age of 28. She was in remission for six years after undergoing a double mastectomy, chemotherapy, and radiation. In late 2018 her cancer came back and is now fighting metastatic invasive ductal carcinoma. Now at 36, the cancer has spread to her liver and bones and has been deemed incurable. The October event raised a total of $2,749.48.
