A Valvoline Instant Oil Change has been proposed in Daytona Beach, Florida, reports Hometown News Volusia.

The new auto service shop would be an addition to The Shoppes at Williamson Crossing, located on a vacant 1.38-acre lot on LPGA Boulevard, nearby a RaceTrac gas station.

With vehicle repair shops not being included in the Williamson Crossing Planned Development Agreement, project planning firm Parker Mynchenberg & Associates Inc. requested an amendment from the Daytona Beach Planning Board at its April 24 meeting,

The planning firm also requested a waiver allowing for glass bay doors, which Planning Board Chairman Michael McLean described as “pretty typical of what you're going to see at an oil change facility … if we're going to go this route, they need to have that done.”

Parker Mynchenberg added that the proposed Valvoline’s proximity to local apartments would make it easier for locals to receive auto maintenance. With an expected daily car count of 40 to 50 cars, the company also expects minimal traffic increases.

The amendment request was met with unanimous approval, and will now be heard by the Daytona Beach City Commission next month.
