The U.S. Department of Transportation, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on Monday announced that Volkswagen Group of America is recalling certain 2022-24 Audi Q5 Quattro and Q5 Sportback Quattro models. The recall impacts 89,000 vehicles, according to a Cars.com report.
Cylinder head cover screws on these models may have been improperly tightened, allowing for oil to leak, which could, in turn, create a fire hazard as leaking oil comes into contact with hot engine components.
Dealers will inspect and replace screws as necessary at no cost. Vehicle owner notification letters are planned to be mailed on July 8. In the meantime, owners can contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834. Audi’s number for this recall is: 15ZK.
